Private Land

Private Land

Private Land (Mostly camping only)

There are hundreds of privately owned campsites in Washington state. Ranging from RV lots to yurts to treehouses. These can be a great fallback when public sites are booked and a low-stress entry point for beginners who want amenities. They are often less “wild,” but more predictable.

Where to book

  • Allstays has a map of privately owned campgrounds in Washington State

  • Platforms like Hipcamp connect campers with private landowners on farms, forests & coastal land

  • Airbnb rents cabins, yurts, or land to set up your own tent

What to expect: Varies widely. Private ownership = toss-up. Most of my experiences have been positive, but I only book from reputable/highly rated places. Err on the safe side, and trust your gut.
